I’m trying to figure out what my social identity is, or what my culture is — I guess just who I really identify with. (It’s for a graduate course) But I can’t figure it out. I guess I’m thinking too hard, or not hard enough.

Here’s a little about me, so maybe someone can help me figure out which culture I identify with…

About me:
I am a white female.
I am a Texas resident
I am a republican
I am an undergraduate student
I come from a wealthy family
I enjoy camping, scrapbooking, other laid back activities

Groups I associate myself with:
Christians
Texans
Education Students
People from well-off families
Creative individuals

((Extra Stuff:: Not Totally Necessary to Read))
I grew up in a white, wealthy family on the outskirts of Denton. I always felt guilty for having money when many people in my school didn’t. When they’d call me rich, I would deny it.As for my ethnic class now, I am poor. I don’t identify with other people who call themselves poor, though, because my parents are still paying for everything. I don’t live like a poor person. They pay my rent, etcetera. My church and religion is another big part of my social identity and culture.I love to scrapbook, and I identify with other people who love scrapbooking. However, this overlaps the people that identify with because of my religion. At my church, there are many people who also enjoy scrapbooking. This group of people also overlaps my neighborhood group at my parent’s house. The people I grew up with who lived on Southwind. Many of the women on that street enjoy scrapbooking and also go to the same church, and live the same way I do.

You sound like a typical WASP.

scrapbooking is not only a hobby, but also an artistic and creative outlet for many across the globe. Since elementary school I have been interested in photography and scrapbooking. I love the way you can transform a simple photograph into a page of memories. Photos capture the moment, journaling emphasizes the memories and the paper, embellishments and stickers enhance the journey. It is a fun way to incorporate my passion for photography and writing. The first family I babysat for gave me a pack of scrapbook supplies for Christmas in sixth grade and I have been hooked ever since.
My YouTube video experience was interesting. After many attempts to integrate music, keep myself from laughing and rush through my presentation I am content with the results. Unfortunately, the camera I used did not upload the audio into my iMovie, so I could not edit as I planned. I hope others will not see my “Minute of Mastery” merely as a how-to video, but more as something they want to try or at least learn more about. I hope you will enjoy learning about my hobby as much as I have over the past ten years.

I’ve searched the internet for free scrapbooking graphics and pages, but am still looking for others. Does anyone know of any good sites with free printable stuff for scrapbooking?
Thanks everyone for all the wonderful links. I can use as many URLs as you can give me. I’ve got 4 boxes of pictures to scrapbook. I’m doing this for a friend, so I need to get them done soon.

Thanks again. These are great.

I am planning on making my boyfriend a scrapbook of us in the near future, but have to idea how or or where to start. I have a few things on hand, and I’ve sorted all of my pictures. But what do I do after that?
I got a "Scrapbooking Alum Kit" for Christmas that has some paper, stickers, stencils, and other "scrapbooking stuff", but what else do I need.

Also, I have Vellum "Quote Stacks", and have no idea how to use them. Any help?

:) Thanks so much in advance!

First thing you can use ANYTHING in a scrapbook… just make sure the items are acid free and archival safe (even pens) to preserve your pix.

Gather your pix you want to use typically 3 to 5 for a one page or two page layout. Choose the paper by using a color from your pix, it dosen’t have to match exactly. You need to title your page like "At the Zoo" or "Our Day."
If you are going to journal about your pix do so before you attach the journal square.
Choose a few stickers, and/ or emblishments that fit with your title.
I never attach anything until I’ve layed it all out, cropped the pix, and looked it over good.
I’ll include some websites I use.
